Cafe Lava Hostel: A Review

This time, I am going to share with you about my experience staying at Café Lava Hostel.
I stayed in this place for two days one night in July 2017.
This hostel locates in Cemorolawang, Sukapura, Ngadisari, Probolinggo, East Java. This place is quite close to the Mount Bromo. You can find the ad of this place in some online ads, including Booking.com, tiket.com.

It was cost Rp 450.000,- for one standard room for two adults and one child under ten years old. Our friend informed us that this hostel has free room from the driver and this has become one of our reasons to choose this hostel. In fact, we did not get any free room for our driver because the receptionist said that it was full.

Room
There are a number of rooms in this hostel although it looks small from outside. At that time, I stayed in standard 10. The size of the room is quite big and there are some facilities, such as hot water, towel, welcome drink, toiletries, and sandal. If you bring your own perfume, maybe you want to give some spray for your room because of the smell of the room.  One thing interesting that I found in this hostel is the bed. It produces sound every time when you moves, looks like an old bed. But it is safe though.

Meals
By staying in that hotel, visitors will get free breakfast but they need to pay for the dinner. The menu for dinner is quite ae variety, such as fried rice, noodle, vegetables, and soup. I ordered friend noodle at that time and the taste was bit disappointed because the taste was little bit salty. Besides that, my friend’s daughter ordered fried rice with fried chicken. The taste of fried chicken was not like what we expected. It had more flour than meat and taste was not delicious.
The next morning, we had some menus for breakfast and those were fried rice, fried noodle, bread, fried egg, slices fruits and drink. We were late because we went to Bromo crater first and back to the hostel about at 10 am. We were lucky because there were still some food to eat but unluckily, there were few water left to drink.

Receptionist

The staff is quite helpful and customer friendly.
