Examples of building up activity for community

name of activity: develop poster together

specific purpose: develop team teamwork, develop self confidence, develop presentational skill, speaking and writing skills

time needed: 30-45 minutes

material: big paper, colored markers, sticky notes

activities:  

- teachers explain to the students about the project that they will do, for example writing a poster about independence day and tell the students that they should work in group of 3

- students decide their team and start to work together by dividing what they will draw in their paper 

- once students finish their poster, they will present to other team about the poster that they make.

- other students give stars to score their friends' poster

- poster that receives the most starts is the winner

name of activity: finding mr X

specific purpose: getting to know each other

time allocation: 1 hour

materials: piece of paper, pen

activities:

- class divides into two group. group A: write the characters on the paper, group B: find the mr x with clues on paper.

- students receive two piece of papers. green and blue. on green card, students write a name of their teachers. on blue card, students write the characteristics of the teacher that his/her name they write on green card, such as name, age, hair color, address, fav color, fav food, fav drink, how they go to school, subject they teach.

- green cards are collected and give to group B. group A holds blue cards. member of group B should ask group A with the clue that they have on their hands (written on green cards)
